I've seen there haven't been posted any news or anything, just wanted to ask how is it coming along? Even a simple answer "Yes!" or "We are busy and the progress is rather slow" will do, just some sign of life, the answer doesn't really matter. I hope the project hasn't died... or... is it?

That's it for now! We'll try to write another blog for the first of August, but it's summer time, and who knows where we will be in August, right?

It's still July 27th here :p

Though I doubt we'll post anything for the first of August. I'm really not available during holidays. :-(

there are only 4 devs for this game(or more?)

and there was no game uptade on 2238 for 3 mounths, and they have 6-8 devs there

Oh whoops, missed that line in your last post :neutral: I'm just quite interested because of the fact I won't be even near a computer the whole August (yeah, I suck) but oh well, atleast I will be able to look at what you guys have made in the time.


@LagMaster - it doesn't matter, altough it might seem 2238 has no news for a long time, they actually are working on it and Surf (or is it Solar?)time to time leak some information. If Surf (or Solar) wouldn't leak any information I would start thinking they abandoned the project.

We are 3 devs, LagMaster :glasses: :glasses: :glasses:

During this month, I 'm working on the biggest technical task since the engine customization :
the combat system.

The vanilla code has been done by a strange way and need a total rebuilt just to be more readable.
Then we will have a nice & modular base to code our own features.

As I dont have any holidays, this job dont progress at max speed but it make his way :wink:

As scheduled, we'll publish a newspost on September 1st. In the meantime, we keep working on the game. Can't really say more about it without spoiling the next piece of news :wink:

Just a short post to say we're still alive :smile: We however don't have time these weeks (months?) to work on Surface Dwellers. It's not our fault :sad: Project is not frozen or abandoned or anything. We'll post another newspost when we'll have something to show! :wink:

That said, if any concrete work has been done this month the project continue his way.
Vanilla scripts digging paid, and the next big step (combat system rebuild) is on the end. No major feature can be done without this one released. So we can hope more progress in a few week.

To be polished ? No idea.
But to have a 1st Beta, probably a few month.

Due to some life issue I didnt had time for SD coding in November. It will be a bit better this month but not foolish too. So, real back to SD will be in Januray.
At this time, I do my best to provide the team the minimal tools so they can push the work forward the work during my "break".

Yes Lag, it slowy grow. just not enough to post an official news at this time.
But a major part is on the end : the combat files rewrite is at 75% done.
A suggestion taking life : reloading weapon "bullet-by-bullet". It will be for shotguns & revolers.

With new combat system will come the 1st balance test. SD will go one, just taking more time due to our team IRL issue. We will post a news as soon as we have "real stuff" to present, not just an Hello-World to say we still alive :wink:

It takes some time though, because both Amarok and I are working and have a lots of things to do other than work for SD.
